Multi-jurisdictional effort leads to arrest of wanted Indiana man

Fort Wayne, Indiana – The multi-county search for a wanted man, spanning several jurisdictions in Indiana, ended successfully with the individual’s arrest in a different state earlier this week.

Fort Wayne Police Department issued a statement confirming the arrest of the 33-year-old individual, Cedrick Carter, alternatively known by authorities as Cedric.

Carter had been a person of interest in several ongoing investigations. In Allen County, he was wanted on a preliminary charge of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Concurrently, in Johnson County, Carter was facing serious charges including four counts of strangulation and five counts of domestic battery. Further, he was wanted in Grant County under charges of marijuana possession and maintaining a common nuisance.

Earlier this month, the Fort Wayne Police Department asked for public assistance in locating Carter. The department’s homicide unit expressed gratitude for the public’s help, which culminated in Carter’s arrest, though the exact location of his capture was not disclosed.

The police have stated that the necessary steps are underway to extradite Carter back to Indiana to face the pending charges.
