IMPD investigates suspected homicide after man found dead with traumatic injuries

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery of a deceased man in the near west side of the city.

The authorities received a call to Arnolda Avenue on Tuesday, around 4 a.m., concerning a suspected death. Upon arriving at the location, the officers found a man exhibiting signs of severe injuries.

Emergency medical services were subsequently summoned, but unfortunately, the man was declared deceased at the scene. The investigation is now under the purview of the homicide detectives who have begun their detailed inquiry. The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the man’s death will be conclusively determined by the coroner’s office.

The identity of the victim is yet to be released, pending notification of the next of kin. Concurrently, an adult individual has been taken into police custody for further questioning relating to this death investigation.
