Shots fired into Indianapolis nursing home over the weekend, no injuries reported

Indianapolis, Indiana – In an alarming incident, a nursing home on the south side of Indianapolis was the target of gunfire on Sunday morning.

At approximately 10:26 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were summoned to respond to an incident at The Waters of Indianapolis, a nursing care facility located at 3895 S. Keystone Avenue. The call involved a report of gunfire.

The exact number of rounds fired into the establishment has yet to be disclosed, but the IMPD report documents multiple instances of property damage. Preliminary information from the report suggests that at least one window and a row of cabinets were marred by the gunfire.

Fortunately, the IMPD’s documentation does not indicate any injuries as a result of this incident. Details regarding the type of firearm utilized during the shooting or the quantity of shell casings retrieved from the scene are yet to be determined.
