Teenager injured in overnight shooting near Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Indianapolis, Indiana – A 15-year-old male was hospitalized following an overnight shooting incident on the western side of Indianapolis, as confirmed by local law enforcement.

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department located the injured teen shortly past 1:30 a.m. Friday in the vicinity of Michigan Street and Holt Road, an area situated approximately 2 miles south of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the teen, who was subsequently transferred to Riley Hospital for Children. He was last reported to be in a stable condition.

A police report revealed that investigators retrieved over a dozen spent 9 mm shell casings from the incident location.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has yet to disclose details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or any potential suspects. At this time, no arrests associated with the case have been reported.
