Indianapolis man arrested in connection with fatal overdose after multi agency drug investigation

Indianapolis, Indiana – A months-long investigation into a fatal overdose on Indianapolis’ north side has led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man now facing serious drug-related charges tied to the death.

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Overdose Death Task Force (ODTF) arrested Kameron Tinnin for his alleged role in a September 2025 overdose. Authorities say the investigation began after patrol officers responded to a death investigation on September 30, 2025, in the 8700 block of Old Town W Drive.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they found an adult male lying on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Evidence gathered during the initial response led officers and detectives to believe the death was the result of a fatal overdose.

Multi-agency investigation uncovers evidence

The case was transferred to the ODTF, which began working to determine the source of the drugs involved. Investigators soon identified Tinnin as a possible suspect connected to the case.

In November, members of the task force executed a search warrant with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Indiana State Police, the IMPD Criminal Interdiction Section, and the Southeast Violent Crimes Task Force. During the search, authorities seized:

  • one-half ounce of suspected fentanyl

  • 10 grams of suspected cocaine

  • 2 pounds of marijuana

  • several hundred pills

  • $2,700 in cash

  • drug dealing paraphernalia

  • four firearms

At that time, Tinnin was arrested on preliminary charges including obstruction of justice, dealing in a controlled substance, and dealing in cocaine/narcotics.

Detectives also located additional evidence during the search that strengthened the fatal overdose investigation. The case was later presented to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. On February 10, 2026, prosecutors issued an arrest warrant charging Tinnin with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death.

Two days later, authorities located and arrested him again with assistance from the United States Marshals Service Task Force.

Officials emphasize that the case reflects a collaborative effort among multiple agencies working to address overdose deaths and drug trafficking. Investigators continue to focus on identifying and prosecuting individuals responsible for distributing deadly substances in the community.

An arrest and a charge are merely accusations, and Tinnin should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
