Early morning shooting in Indianapolis left one person injured, police investigating

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning.

At approximately 1:58 a.m., officers were dispatched to a reported gunfire incident at 1200 N. Delaware. Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim with a gunshot injury inside an apartment.

Initially, the injured individual declined medical intervention. However, after persuasion from the officers, she was transported to a nearby medical facility where she is now reported to be in stable condition.

Furthermore, a male, suspected to have a connection to the event, was examined by medical professionals and was found to be unharmed. Notably, there was blood detected on his facial hair, specifically his beard, but its origin remains undetermined.

At this time, IMPD investigators have yet to ascertain the circumstances that led to the altercation between the two individuals.
