Interstate 65 closure announced by Indiana Department of Transportation

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has officially announced a 14-hour closure for both directions of Interstate 65 on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

The closure is scheduled to commence on Saturday, July 22, at 8 p.m. and is expected to conclude on Sunday, July 23, at 10 a.m.

During this temporary shutdown, the dedicated crews from Beaty Construction, an INDOT contractor, will diligently work to install beams for the new Traders Lane bridge, thereby necessitating the closure.

To facilitate traffic flow, a detour route has been established, which will guide motorists along I-865 and I-465.

In order to prioritize the safety of workers and commuters alike, INDOT is urging drivers to exercise caution by reducing their speed, maintaining heightened awareness, and refraining from distractions while traveling through or near construction zones.
