IMPD launches second annual Teen Academy to inspire future law enforcement officers
Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) commenced its second annual Teen Academy Summer Program this Monday, offering the city’s youth a unique opportunity to engage with law enforcement on multiple levels.
This complimentary initiative seeks to establish a more effective communication channel between the local police and adolescents aged 12 to 14. The fundamental objective of the program is to provide an insight into the field of law enforcement, enabling the participants to explore this career path more deeply.
The diverse curriculum covers a broad range of subjects, encompassing crime lab investigations, methods of resolving conflicts, and maintaining physical fitness. The participants will gain practical knowledge in these areas over the duration of the program.
This immersive, week-long experience will culminate in a graduation ceremony on Friday, accompanied by a celebratory dinner, to acknowledge the efforts and participation of the attending youth.
