Driver ejected in east Indianapolis crash dies on scene

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Wednesday, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on the eastern side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of a woman.

Officers from the IMPD East District promptly responded to the incident around noon on August 30, following reports of an overturned vehicle on Greenfield Avenue in the vicinity of Brookville Road and South Ritter Street.

Initial findings by the IMPD indicate that an SUV failed to heed a stop sign, subsequently colliding with another vehicle. This led to the SUV overturning, and its driver being thrown from the car, tragically succumbing to her injuries on-site.

Fortunately, the occupants of the second vehicle, a family, emerged unscathed from the accident.

For the ongoing investigation, authorities have requested both motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution and consider alternative routes to bypass the affected area.
