IMPD investigates an early morning crash that resulted in motorcyclist’s death

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has launched an investigation following a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the city’s far east side early Wednesday morning.

The incident transpired around 6:30 a.m. on September 13 at the crossroads of North Post Road and East Washington Street.

Following the accident, the male motorcyclist was transported to a nearby medical facility. Upon arrival, he was pronounced deceased, as confirmed by the IMPD. Concurrently, a female passenger from the car underwent a blood test at the same hospital, a routine step in incidents with fatalities. Additionally, a child from the same car received medical attention due to reported discomfort.

“Investigators are working to determine the facts of what occurred prior to the crash,” police said in a statement.
