Indy Humane waives adoption fees for BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis community is in for a treat, as the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event sweeps across the nation, making it easier than ever to find a new furry friend to bring home.

Indy Humane, one of over 350 shelters in 45 states participating in the event, is taking it one step further by waiving all adoption fees between May 2 and May 15.

As owner surrenders and slowed adoption rates plague shelters nationwide, the BISSELL Pet Foundation has partnered with Dogtopia to make a lifesaving difference for pets in need.

Cathy Bissell, Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation, stated, “This is a very difficult time for shelters across the country, with increasing owner surrenders due to the housing crisis and inflation as well as slowed adoption rates. With Dogtopia’s partnership, we are hopeful more pets than ever will find homes during this national event.”

Donna Casamento, CEO of IndyHumane, expressed excitement to participate in this event and make great matches between pets and their future owners.

IndyHumane is currently seeking homes for large breed dogs, and all pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the life of a shelter pet and bring a new furry companion into your home. So, head over to Indy Humane and let the search for your new best friend begin!
