One wounded in series of gun violence incidents probed by Indianapolis police
Indianapolis, Indiana – The law enforcement authorities in Indianapolis are currently conducting an inquiry into a shooting incident on the city’s east side, which resulted in one individual sustaining injuries.
Sunday evening was particularly tumultuous, with the police force of Indianapolis investigating no fewer than three separate instances of gun violence.
The most recent of these events took place at approximately 9 p.m., in the vicinity of the 4000 block of Denali Drive, a location in close proximity to 42nd Street and County Line Road.
Although details pertaining to the incident remain scarce at this juncture, an official spokesperson from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) confirmed that responding officers, dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting, discovered a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound or wounds. The injured party was subsequently transported to a hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
Earlier in the evening, another incident had transpired in the area around 16th & Ritter, where officers located another gunshot victim. According to an IMPD spokesperson, the individual was conscious at the time of their transfer to a medical facility.
Furthermore, at around 7 p.m., officers responded to a call pertaining to a shooting on the 2100 block of North Arlington Avenue. On arrival, they found an individual suffering from “injuries consistent with a gunshot wound”. The victim was in serious condition and was quickly rushed to a hospital by an ambulance.
