Indiana hunter injured in fire incident at Morgan-Monroe State Forest

Monroe County, Indiana – On Tuesday, an incident occurred in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest where an Indiana resident was unintentionally shot by another hunter during a squirrel hunting expedition.

The individual, identified as 72-year-old William Long from Monrovia, was promptly transported to a medical facility for treatment and has since been discharged.

Indiana Conservation Officers, who are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the event, stress the importance for hunters to meticulously identify their intended targets and to remain cognizant of their surroundings prior to discharging their firearms.
