IMPD investigates fatal shooting on Indianapolis west side

Indianapolis, Indiana – Authorities are currently investigating an incident where an individual was fatally shot on the west side of Indy on Wednesday morning.

Upon receiving a report at approximately 6:20 a.m. about a shooting incident in the 7100 block of Pluto Drive, officers arrived at the scene to find a man outside a residence, presenting with gunshot injuries.

Initially, the victim’s condition was deemed critical. However, he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. According to IMPD, one individual has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

Additionally, an IMPD representative confirmed that a residence sustained damage during the incident. The homeowner is actively collaborating and engaging in discussions with the investigators.

The local police department is urging residents in the vicinity to review footage from their doorbell cameras between the hours of 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. to identify any unusual or suspicious activity that might aid the ongoing investigation.
