Another Avon High School student dies of suspected drug overdose

Avon, Indiana – Tragic news has hit Avon High School as the community mourns the passing of one of their own.

Noah Pillow, an active member of the school’s club lacrosse team, died over the weekend due to a suspected drug overdose.

This incident marks the second time in the past two months that a student at Avon High School has passed away under similar circumstances.

In an effort to protect fellow classmates, Noah’s father allowed the school to release the cause of death. Crisis counselors are available at the school to provide support to students and staff during this difficult time, and special accommodations have been put in place for the club lacrosse team and their families.

The school corporation has been working to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and was in the process of planning a public information session on the topic. The session, scheduled for Thursday, May 18, will take place in the Avon Middle School North Auditorium at 7 p.m.
